Arbi Falls near Nitte is smaller than most falls. Nevertheless, for its serene atmosphere and beauty you’d want to stay there just to listen to its gentle murmurs. The origin of this falls is Manjaltar River. Nitte Arbi falls also known as Parapaddy falls is one such waterfall situated just 10 km away from Karkala and 3 km from Nitte Parapaddy cross. Owing to its scenic beauty, roaring and unending flow of water, Arbi falls has become a tourist destination in Karkala.
River Shambhavi after originating near Bajagoli flows southwards near Kalkar in Nitte gram panchayat limit, takes a wide jump along a rocky bed creating a scenic beauty in the rainy season which lasts till December.
Many localites visit the place for picnics and day outings. Although one can safely wade into the waters, the rocks are slippery. The distance from Udupi to Nitte is roughly about 75 kms and can be reached by bus or private vehicles.
