The Power of Yoga Mudras: Sacred Hand Gestures for Balance and Healing
A mudra is a sacred and symbolic gesture found in yoga. Yoga mudras are symbolic gestures often practiced with the hands and fingers. While some mudras involve the entire body, most are performed with the hands and fingers. The physical body is made up of five elements — Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Aakash (ether – the tiny intercellular spaces in the human body). Imbalance of these elements disrupts the immune system and causes disease.
Deficiencies in any of these elements can be balanced through Mudras. These hand gestures activate electromagnetic currents in the body to promote healing and wellness.
