The radio park is renovated on 2 October 2020 by K Raghupathi Bhat (Udupi MLA). Now park users can listen to radio every evening from 5.30pm to 8pm and the vast rock formations and stone benches dotting the park serve as natural seats. The radio tower now has a new PA system and radio set. The PA system volume has been set in a manner that the sound of the radio programme resonates within the park and does not disturb the surrounding residential areas. The restoration work has also given life to an alarm that will ring three times a day – at 8am, 12.30pm and again at 8pm. The last of the day’s alarm is also an indicator for those at the park that they need to vacate the premises.
